Ms. Dimakatso Betty Molapo is a dedicated post-graduate student currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Equine Welfare at the University of South Africa. She holds a National Diploma and Baccalaureus Technologiae in Animal Health from the same institution.

Ms. Molapo is employed by the Boarder Management Authority (RSA) as an Animal Health Technician at Durban Harbour. In this role, she supports the State Veterinarian with responsibilities including animal disease control, animal product inspections, sample collection, law enforcement, and border control and management. Her career spans over eight years as an Agricultural, Food, and Quarantine Technician at O.R. Tambo International Airport, specializing in import border control.

Her professional experience extends across South Africa, including Gauteng, Northwest, Limpopo, and Free State, as well as Lesotho. Notably, she worked as an Equine Inspector at the Highveld Horse Care Unit, focusing on investigating allegations of abuse and neglect, raising public awareness of equine welfare, and lobbying for improved conditions.

Since 2018, Ms. Molapo has been actively involved with the Tanzania Humane Charity Organization (TAHUCHA). Initially working in Bukombe, she now serves part-time from South Africa, making occasional visits to Geita and Zanzibar where TAHUCHA operates. As an Honorary Board Member and Volunteer, she offers consultation and serves during her holidays, contributing to project design and planning for animal welfare initiatives.
