Prof. Donald G. Mpanduji is a renowned veterinarian, specializing in mega-herbivores ecology, bio-telemetry, game capture, and anaesthesiology. He has extensive field experience in surgery and anaesthesia and is involved in training field veterinarians both locally and abroad. Prof. Mpanduji has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students in veterinary medicine, wildlife management, and biology from Sokoine and Open University. He has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals, both locally and internationally, and has served as an external examiner at Nairobi University. He is widely consulted on issues related to anaesthesia, wildlife immobilization, mega-herbivore ecology, bio-telemetry, and wildlife diseases.

Prof. Mpanduji has served TAHUCHA on several occasions, coordinating international community partnerships for regional and global governance and large-scale impact. He also supervises TAHUCHA’s veterinary technical operations in Zanzibar and is a board member. His administrative experience includes serving as Principal of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Sokoine University of Agriculture and as Deputy Vice Chancellor for Planning, Finance, and Administration at the University of Dodoma. Additionally, he has been involved with various academic and non-academic boards.
